::This ended up being one of my favorite places to go in Chisinau. It isn't the fanciest, and there are, no doubt, places that serve better food, but it is a very, very good value, and you won't find friendlier service. The first night I went was at the suggestion of a couple I met. I had soup (solyanka) and a very generous portion of salmon baked perfectly. And, of course, no meal in Moldova is complete without wine. Everything was very good, the waitress was utterly charming, and the bill came to around 15 usd. My next visit was no less satisfying. A pickle platter, placinte (which is a sort of flat pastry filled with cheese, potato or even fruit) and Moldovan mici (grilled meat rolls). And again the price was just a tad over 15 usd. Again, this is not haute cuisine. This is basic, unpretentious, good food at a very, very good price.
